The Alerin Barn is located in the North East Kingdom of Vermont in the town of St. Johnsbury.
St. Johnsbury Vermont is at the junction of Interstates I-91 & I-93. Approx 1.5 hours from Burlington International Airport, 1.5 hours from Manchester NH. International airport, 3 hours from Boston & 5 hours from NY City.
From Boston:
Take I-93 approx 3 hrs until you reach the Vermont border, then take exit 1 ( St. Johnsbury), get off exit and take a right, at the bottom of the hill at (gas station) take a left onto Route 2 west (Towards St. Johnsbury) go aprox 1 mile after the Farmers Daughter gift Barn ( on right ) and Fairbanks Scales ( on left) take a right onto Spaulding Rd. ( you will see signs for DOG MOUNTAIN and Reilys Fish Shack and a dog walker sculpture at Spaulding Rd. sign)
Follow Spaulding rd. for 1.8 miles to the top of the mountain, when the rd flattens out you will see the Alerin Barn sign on right. (if you reach the Yellow farm you have gone to far.)
From NY City, Hanover area & White River Jct. Vermont:
Take I 91 north approx 1hr, After passing the Jct of I-93 & I-91 take exit 20 (the first St. Johnsbury Exit ). Take a right onto Route 5 / Route 2/ Railroad St., follow through the town of St. Johnsbury 0.1 mile, at the Dunken Donuts, take a right onto Route 2 East/ Portalnd Street and cross the Portland Street Bridge, follow 2.2 miles and turn left onto Spaulding Rd. continue 1.9 miles to the top of the hill and on your right.
